Christopher Marlborough New York Overtime Law, Minimum Wage Law, Class Action Law, Wage Theft Lawyer
Christopher Marlborough is a New York Wage Theft lawyer practicing on Long Island and New York City. He represents workers who have been cheated out of overtime, minimum wage, and other wages by their employers. Christopher has been fighting for Plaintiffs since 2004 and has been litigating class action lawsuits since 2007.
Christopher has seen worker exploitation and wage theft first-hand in the course of his work as a vocational evaluator prior to attending law school. He provided work readiness assessments and career counseling to persons with disabilities. In this job, he developed a passion for workers’ rights, which continues to this day.
Education
Christopher graduated magna cum laude from both undergraduate and law school. He was also recognized with numerous merit scholarships and awarded the prestigious Sparer Public Interest Fellowship from Brooklyn Law School.
Professional Experience
Christopher is a former Chair (2018-2019) and Vice Chair (2015-2017) of the Nassau County Bar Association, Labor and Employment Committee. In 2021, he was awarded the Lawrence Solotoff Memorial Recognition for Distinguished Professional Achievement by the Committee. Chris has provided numerous continuing legal education presentations to attorneys on issues including wage theft and class action law.
Chris has been recognized by Super Lawyers magazine since 2013, first as a Rising Star (2013-2014) and then as a Super Lawyer (2014-2023).
Since founding the Marlborough Law Firm in 2013, Christopher has secured more than $20,000,000 in settlement funds for his clients, including an $11,000,000 settlement on behalf of a class of discount store workers, a $7,200,000 settlement on behalf of more than a thousand portable toilet company workers and more than $875,00 on behalf of cheerleaders for the Buffalo Bills, NFL Football team.
Prior to founding the firm, Christopher worked on a number of high-profile consumer fraud and wage theft cases. He was on the trial team that secured two jury verdicts for $37 and $50 million on behalf of a class of 150,000 users of Avacor, a phony hair restoration product. His experience in wage theft cases includes a lawsuit against the Ruby Tuesday restaurant chain, in which he represented more than 5,000 workers who joined the case.

A Woman’s Work: The NFL’s Cheerleader Problem sheds light on the continued fight to end the gender pay gap prevalent throughout the National Football League. For over 50 years, NFL cheerleaders—women who are lifelong athletes were expected to both maintain a peak physical condition and fulfill extreme beauty standards. Many of these athletes have been historically underpaid, with some earning as little as $5 an hour, while others are never paid a salary at all. A Woman’s Work chronicles the journeys of cheerleaders from the Oakland Raiders and the Buffalo Bills, each of whom put their careers on the line to take legal action and fight for fair pay.
Through the stories of two women in particular—Lacy, a former cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders and mother of three, and Maria, a former Buffalo Bills cheerleader, both of whom take up the grueling fight for fair pay against the NFL—the film paints a vivid picture of gender inequality at the heart of America’s favorite pastime. A Woman’s Work features interviews with former cheerleaders—some who have filed lawsuits against and others who stand staunchly in support of the NFL—their family members, and labor lawyers.
